Why should I pay for emails?

As our customer, you are in control. The mailbox team is primarily concerned with the operation and further development of our products. With our features, we are a real alternative to the ad-financed, data-grabbing, and free-in-name-only offers of many large corporations. If you have your account with us, you won't pay for it with your data. With mailbox, you get secure, ad-free, anonymous and tracking-free email inboxes at a fair price. Everyone can try our products free of charge for 30 days and then decide which price plan is right for them.

Can I use mailbox free of charge?

Everyone can try their favourite mailbox price plan for 30 days at no cost and test all features at their leisure before deciding which of our cost-effective price plans is the best for them. If you choose mailbox, you can also migrate all your other emails to us easily and free of charge.

Can I change my price plan later?

Of course, you have the flexibility to adapt your price plan to your current needs at any time. When life changes, your email requirements may change, too. Whether you need more storage space or find that a smaller package is sufficient, we will not tie anyone into long-term contracts. A change of price plan can be actioned with just a few clicks and works immediately, without having to go through complicated processes or long waiting times.

Which payment methods can I use?

At mailbox, billing is very straightforward. Users prepay for their subscription by one of the following methods:

  • Bank transfer
  • Direct debit (SEPA)
  • Credit card
  • PayPal
  • Cash by post (By letter and EURO banknotes only - no cheques)
  • Cash deposit into our bank account

Please only pay in as much as you intend to use. A credit refund is not possible.

How does my account renew?

At mailbox, you simply load credit onto your account balance in advance, and the amount determines how long your subscription will be paid for. Before credit runs out, you will receive several reminders in good time, for your email service to continue without interruption. However, it may be more convenient to just set up a SEPA Direct Debit, which allows us to credit your account automatically. You can view and adjust your payment configuration at any time on the mailbox settings pages.

Contract & accounting

As a mailbox business customer, you get a lot of flexibility:

  • Flexible contracts 
    Add or remove email addresses at any time. Change account price plans with immediate effect. Adjust the storage space you have booked at short notice and only pay for what you need.
     
  • VAT invoices 
    You will receive a monthly VAT bulk invoice. Payment by bank transfer or Direct Debit can be arranged.
     
  • Short notice period
    No annual contracts: Our customers tend to be with us because they want to be with us. At mailbox, notice periods are short as a matter of principle.
Advice, planning & migration

Not quite sure yet what exactly you need? Or do you already have a large amount of data in the cloud and are reluctant to move it? Whether it is Gmail, Microsoft 365, another hosting company, or even your own custom solution: professional help is available before, during and after your migration.

  • Support for you and your administrator
    What is possible, what makes sense, what is feasible? As a business customer, you will be assigned a personal contact person in advance. They will contact you to discuss any issues and take care of coordinating your move.
     
  • Relocation with Audriga
    Our partner Audriga takes care of the automated migration of previously stored data from all accounts: Email, calendars, contacts and even files from your cloud storage. This is a bit like a luxury relocation service: When you enter your new mailbox office, your desk and all files will be there waiting for you.
  • Need help with the setup?
    Do you have questions about apps, software selection or usage options and procedures? Your personal contact will be happy to take care of your onboarding and support you and your users with any individual software setups.
Support & Service

Depending on your chosen service package, our support specialists are available to be contacted by your account administrator by email ticket system or on the phone - even 24/7 in case of emergency. You decide which level of support you require.

  • 2nd/3rd -Level Support
    mailbox provides 2nd/3rd level support for you as a customer or your account administrator.
     
  • 1st level support as per mailbox price plan
    We will be happy to provide you with 1st level support for your employees on request. Please note that this option is only available for our STANDARD and PREMIUM mailbox price plans.
     
  • Personal contact person
    Customers who choose a Platinum or a Gold service package benefit from an individual contact who is available to answer any questions about contract or onboarding.
Central administration & API

Everything under control. As a Business Mail customer, you get access to your own administration interface to configure or change your mail hosting settings at any time.

  • Centralised administration
    Manage your contract, domains, mailboxes, forwarding rules, passwords, storage space and all other account settings in a single place.
     
  • Enable individual settings
    Specify if you want your users to be able to change their individual settings for spam filter, blacklist and backup.
     
  • Groupware in user groups
    Define different user groups within your account. This makes it easier to share groupware resources such as calendars, contacts and files.
     
  • API for professionals
    Do you maintain a larger IT environment and have your own administration processes? Or would you like to make our services available to your users as a reseller on your own website? All settings can be easily integrated into your infrastructure and modified through our API.
Server location in Germany

As a business customer, you benefit from the fact that our servers are physically located in Germany. We operate our services exclusively in redundant data centres in Berlin, and these meet the highest security standards. Your data is therefore subject to strict German data protection law and the GDPR - a decisive advantage when it comes to compliance requirements. We ensure maximum security through comprehensive physical and technical protection measures in our data centres. Most importantly, your data does not get transferred abroad, which avoids legal uncertainty.
