Certified quality at mailbox
You entrust us with your data, and we take this responsibility seriously. Our certifications show transparently that we not only fulfil the strictest security, quality and sustainability requirements, but actively live them.
ISO 27001 and BSI C5
ISO 27001 is the international standard for information security. It confirms that a company protects data and systems with structured security management and actively manages risks.
BSI C5 is the cloud criteria catalogue of the German Federal Office for Information Security. A C5 certificate proves that a cloud provider works according to tested German cloud security criteria.
BSI IT security label
Our security mechanisms are officially recognised by the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). The IT security label that we received confirms that mailbox meets the BSI's consumer protection and security requirements for email providers.
In accordance with the requirements of the technical guideline “Secure email transport” (BSI TR 03108), our Premium, Standard, and Light plans bear the BSI's IT security label, which can be checked by scanning the QR code.
BSI Gold status for email security
For Gold status, we have fulfilled the strictest requirements of the BSI, in particular by fully implementing DNSSEC (Domain Name System Security Extensions). This technology protects you from DNS tampering and ensures that your emails actually originate from the specified servers. In addition, we utilise all other security protocols recommended by the BSI: DMARC and DKIM for authentication, DANE for additional encryption, SPF against email spoofing, TLS for secure transmission and MTA-STS for secure server connections.
Software Hosted and Made in Germany
The seals of approval from the Federal Association of IT SMEs (Bundesverband IT-Mittelstand e. V.) certify cloud providers according to strict data protection and security criteria. They guarantee that software and data are hosted exclusively in data centres in Germany or the EU, EFTA and EEA and that development and quality assurance take place in Germany.
The certifications supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, therefore, offer companies and authorities legal certainty and a reliable promise of quality when selecting cloud-based software solutions.
Alliance for Cybersecurity
Founded in 2012 by the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), the Alliance for Cybersecurity (Allianz für Cyber-Sicherheit) is a platform for exchanging information on current threats and protective measures.
As a participant, we benefit from the BSI's expertise and receive exclusive information on cyber threats in order to protect your data in the best possible way.
Cybersecurity made in Europe
As a holder of the European Cybersecurity Organisation (ECSO) seal, we are guided by the highest European standards for cybersecurity and data protection. The label recognises European-based companies that consistently align their business activities with European values such as transparency, data sovereignty and trustworthiness.
For you, this means your data is managed in accordance with strict European data protection guidelines, without non-European influences and access options.
100 % renewable energy
Our servers run in Berlin data centres with renewable energy, and our office is supplied by the renewable energy provider Lichtblick. When travelling, we use the train and car-sharing vehicles from Stadtmobil. If a flight is necessary, we compensate atmosfair.
