Press Release
mailbox.org upgrades its online office with video conferences
- Ideal for families and small businesses: up to 10 participants per conference
- Encrypted connections and unlimited conference duration
- "mailbox.org Videoconference" already included in the one-euro tariff until the end of 2020
Berlin, 2020-09-30 – Videoconferencing secure, confidential and cost-effective: mailbox.org, the provider specialized in secure communication, now offers its own conference solution in its upscale office packages based on a further development of the well-known open source software "Jitsi". Due to the Corona crisis, the offer is also included in the one-euro tariff of mailbox.org until the end of the year at no extra charge.
"Since the corona crisis we have seen an increased demand for secure video conferencing solutions hosted in Germany. mailbox.org now offers video conferencing that is as easy to use as it is undoubtedly the highest level of data protection," says Peer Heinlein, founder and CEO of mailbox.org. "With the new videoconferencing feature we are expanding our online office and at the same time taking the next step towards a comprehensive communication platform".
mailbox.org operates all servers required for this service itself in its own data centers in Germany. This guarantees that personal data and information of family members or employees are safely and securely stored with a trustworthy provider in Germany and that no data is stored or analyzed by an American company. This is all the more important in light of the fact that the European Court of Justice (ECJ) recently declared the so-called "US Privacy Shield" to be ineffective, meaning that the use of US-based cloud services must generally be regarded as illegal under data protection law.
Secure video conferences fast and easy
Due to the simple and legally secure use, mailbox.org video conferences are not only suitable for business conferences, team meetings or training sessions, but also for private use with friends or family when personal visits are not possible during Corona times. Up to ten participants per conference are possible at the start of the offer. For large customers, however, mailbox.org also offers closed video conferencing systems with over 100 participants on request.
All connections of the mailbox.org video conferences are encrypted and can easily be used by users with less technical skills. Conference rooms can be set up in the mailbox.org office with individual room names and password protection. Participants will then receive an invitation link by e-mail that is immediately functional.
Participation is cross-platform in the browser (Firefox and Chrome recommended) and requires no additional software installations. Alternatively, free apps are available for mobile use on Android and iOS devices.
In addition to the actual video conference, chat messages can be exchanged simultaneously and even screen views or presentations can be shared.
