Business continuity: Growing threat situation and regulatory requirements
According to the World Economic Forum, 72 % of all organisations worldwide reported an increasing cyber risk in 2025. The consequences are serious: according to IBM, the average downtime after cyber attacks in 2024 was 185 days. Survey results from Bitkom put the damage caused by cybercrime in Germany alone at 178.6 billion euros in the same year. Organisations need a reliable emergency solution in order to be well prepared to deal with this growing threat situation and a failure of their communication and collaboration infrastructure.
In accordance with the NIS-2 Directive and the German law implementing NIS-2, companies and authorities must prove that they have functioning business continuity measures in place. EVAC supports organisations in fulfilling specific NIS-2 requirements, e.g. in risk management, incident response and reporting obligations. In addition, EVAC helps to fulfil the requirements of BSI Standard 200-4 on business continuity management: As part of the business continuity plan (CFP), EVAC enables the continuation of time-critical business processes.
