mailbox.org at the Logan CIJ Symposium

Whistleblowers, investigative journalists, Internet activists, and artists will come together on the 11th and 12th of March 2016 to meet at the Logan CIJ Symposium in Berlin. Central topics for this year’s meeting are democracy, data protection, and information security – summed up in the slogan „Challenge Power! Alliances against secrecy, surveillance, and censorship“.

The event is being organised by the London-based Centre for Investigative Journalism (CIJ), who are passionate about journalism ethics, information security, privacy, and the protection of whistleblowers.

Attendees include a number of prominent international guests, like the American investigative journalist Seymour Hersh; Julian Assange and Sarah Harrison from WikiLeaks; the journalist and Tor-Developer Jacob Appelbaum; and many others. Also present will be activists from netzpolitik.org and the Chaos Computer Club. The meeting is supported by the news media outlets “DER SPIEGEL” and “taz panther foundation” and “Rudolf Augstein Foundation”.

We at mailbox.org are very honoured to have been given the opportunity to contribute to this exciting event. Our aim has always been to protect private data and ensure free and unrestricted communication for everyone. Naturally, we will do our part to help make this a success – with our own mailbox.org booth at the event. We look forward to many interesting conversations ahead.

Tickets for the event are still available and on sale for EUR 50 to EUR 250 each.
