Linux Administrator (m/f/d)

at mailbox.org: Full-time, Berlin or remote

mailbox.org is setting new standards in secure e-mail communication for both private and business customers. We are passionately building mailbox.org from a niche provider to a mass provider, where security and privacy are top priorities.

We are committed to free and secure communication!

Your role

  • You love variety: you plan, administer and are responsible for the servers and infrastructure in our data centres and feel called for some of these tasks:
    1. Enterprise and carrier-grade mail servers (Postfix, Dovecot, Open-Xchange & Anti-Spam).
    2. MySQL databases (Galera)
    3. Automation / Scripting / Salt / Ansible
    4. LDAP
    5. Monitoring (based on Check_MK, Nagios, PNP, Perl)
  • You actively shape the technical infrastructure: You ensure that the systems are up-to-date and "up-and-running".
  • You like to pass on knowledge: You support the colleagues from the mailbox.org support as 3rd level

Your profile

  • You are passionate about Linux: You have several years of professional experience in Linux server administration at LPIC-1 or LPIC-2 level.
  • You are a goal-getter: You can analyse technical issues quickly and cleanly, have a structured and careful way of working even with an increased workload and are happy to complete projects.
  • You are curious: You are eager to learn about technical innovations and want to develop professionally and personally.
  • You are a team player: You are motivated, reliable, like to coordinate with colleagues and still work independently and in a structured manner. You support your colleagues in the rotating, extra-paid 24/7 on-call duty.
  • You are fluent in German (at least B2 level) and can communicate in English.

Working with us

  • Knowledge: Challenging and diverse tasks. Exchange of experience across all teams and levels.
  • Growth: We specifically promote your professional and personal development.
  • Work-life balance: We make it possible to combine career and family, e.g. by offering overtime compensation.
  • Owner-managed family business: With 25 years of history, we guarantee stability and security in a family environment. We involve our employees in the joint success of the company.
  • Amenities: Public transportation company ticket, organic fruit & hot drinks, a weekly masseur, a central office in Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg and regular joint team events and activities make your (work) life more enjoyable.
